Compare Marketing OS

Comparisons written to survive being checked. Every page carries the date it was last reviewed, says where each claim about the other side came from, and keeps the rows where we lose.

The rules these pages are written under

  • Claim only what ships. Nothing in our column is a roadmap item. If it is not merged and running, it is not on the page.
  • Date everything. A comparison with no review date is a claim with no expiry. Competitors ship; a page that does not say when it was checked will eventually be lying.
  • Keep the losing rows. Where the other side is better, the row says so and is not dressed up. A table we win unanimously is an advertisement, and readers can tell the difference.
  • Publish a correction address. Every page ends with one. If we have got something wrong about a competitor, we would rather hear it than be quoted on it.
