Marketing OS vs AdAdvisor

Both put an AI on your ad account. They disagree about how much of it.

Last reviewed

AdAdvisor and Marketing OS are aimed at the same person: someone spending real money on ads who does not want to spend their week inside Ads Manager, and does not want to hand fifteen percent of spend to an agency either. Both answer with an AI that reads your account and knows your economics.

They diverge on two things. AdAdvisor is deep on Meta and is building outward; Marketing OS is multi-channel and includes a surface — what the AI answer engines say about you — that nobody else in this category measures. And the shipped AdAdvisor product advises, while the autonomous version is still invite-only, where in Marketing OS the agent calls the tools itself inside risk tiers and hard spend guardrails.

They are also, honestly, out-publishing us. The rows below say so.

Channels

AdAdvisor

Meta Ads. Google, TikTok and Snap are described as coming, without dates.

Marketing OS

Meta Ads with reads and approved writes, Google Ads read-only, publishing to Facebook Pages, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, Search Console and GA4 for organic, and geo-grid rank tracking on Google and Apple maps.

Their platform page positions the product as a rebuilt Meta Ads Manager.

AI search visibility

AdAdvisor

Not offered.

Marketing OS

Geo-grid rank tracking across ChatGPT, Gemini, Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode and Grok — on a recurring schedule, with per-surface trends and a share-of-voice leaderboard built from the businesses those answers actually name.

Nothing on their site mentions AI answer engines as a ranking surface. You can run a scan of your own on our free checker without an account.

What the AI is allowed to do

AdAdvisor

The shipped product produces recommendations a human then applies. Their autonomous agent, Nova, is described in detail but is invite-only — a hand-picked founding cohort, with no public documentation and no self-serve way in.

Marketing OS

The agent calls the tools itself. Every action is a registered tool with a typed input and a risk tier: reads run freely, reversible in-app changes run inline, and anything that spends money or leaves the building is staged in an approvals inbox that changes nothing until you release it.

Their Nova page describes a waitlist and a founding cohort rather than general availability.

Spend safety

AdAdvisor

Per-action approval, with spend caps, target CPA and ROAS floors described as part of the autonomous product.

Marketing OS

Per-business daily and monthly spend caps, a ROAS floor, geo allow and block lists and blocked creative angles, all checked before a call runs and all refuse-only — no prompt, no autonomy setting and no model can switch one off. New campaigns are always created paused.

API key scope

AdAdvisor

Keys are organization-wide, with no per-client granularity — their own documentation says so.

Marketing OS

A key can be confined to a single business and to read-only, which is what an agency needs before it hands one to a contractor.

This is the clearest gap between the two products, and it is theirs to close.

Bring your own AI client

AdAdvisor

A remote MCP server with roughly forty curated tools over OAuth, plus an open-source, Apache-2.0 skills pack. It is the strongest part of their product and it has been shipped for a while.

Marketing OS

A remote MCP endpoint that renders the same tool catalogue the in-app agent uses, gated identically, plus our own Apache-2.0 skills pack. Comparable in shape; theirs has been in the wild longer.

Agencies

AdAdvisor

Agencies are named as a target customer; the features are advertised rather than documented.

Marketing OS

A client roll-up ranking every business by what needs a human, per-business roles so a strategist sees only their accounts, a white-label client portal on your own verified domain, and scheduled client reports delivered as branded PDFs.

Free tools and published content

AdAdvisor

Around ninety published articles, five free calculators and a free product tier, from a team of roughly three people. This is genuinely the thing they do better than us.

Marketing OS

This page, four free calculators and a live AI visibility checker — a start, and behind them by a wide margin on volume.

Which one should you pick?

Choose AdAdvisor if Meta is the only channel you care about, you want the fastest possible rebuilt ads table, and you are happy to be the human who applies the recommendations.

Choose Marketing OS if you run more than Meta, if being absent from AI answers about your category would worry you, or if you want the AI to actually do the work — inside caps it cannot argue with and an approvals queue you control.

If you are an agency, the deciding row is probably API key scope and per-business roles. Organization-wide keys do not survive contact with a book of clients.

We deliberately do not restate either side’s prices here. Both move, and a stale number in a comparison table is exactly the kind of claim this page exists to avoid — check both pricing pages directly.

Check the one row you can verify yourself

The AI search visibility claim is the easiest to test: run our free checker on your own business and see whether ChatGPT names you. No account, no email.

How this page is written

Everything in the right-hand column is shipped and in production today. We do not put roadmap items in a comparison table — if it is not merged, it is not on this page.

Everything in the left-hand column comes from AdAdvisor’s own public material as it stood on the review date above, and each row says where. We are not their customer, so we can only read what they publish; products move, and a page like this goes stale quietly.

If something here is wrong or out of date — especially if it is unfair to AdAdvisor — tell us and we will correct it and re-date the page: contact@keyescode.com.
